May we share in your life, Lord!

Welcome to St. Francis Xavier Parish!  Founded in 1892, we are located in downtown Sikeston and are a part of the Springfield-Cape Girardeau Diocese.  Our parish is approximately 580 families strong.  We have our own grade school (pre-K to 8th) located next to the parish.  We have many service organizations and religious formation programs in the Catholic Faith.  We are proud of our history and welcome you to join us whenever you are in the area.

Welcome Father Glenn!

Prayer for Our Troops

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. And give us peace. We ask this in the name of Jesus, Our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Year for Priests

Pope Benedict XVI has declared a Year for Priests beginning with the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on June 19, 2009. This year will conclude in Rome with an international gathering of priests with the Holy Father on June 19, 2010. Please pray for our priests, especially those serving in our diocese, that they might always be faithful to their sacred calling.

Stewardship Message

Questions Relating to the Gospel

Today's reading from St. Paul explains the "divine economy" of stewardship - "The relief of others ought not to impoverish you; there should be a certain equality. Your plenty at the present time should supply their need so that their surplus may in turn one day supply your need.

What are the daily routines that drain you in your faith life? How does the experience of a miracle change lives? How much of our own faith rests on the "need" for miracles?
